Larrupin' Cafe

All was very good, but as some past comments I noted made the point of cost to value. My meal was the spicy Brisket and Ribs dish. While it was tasty, I can’t say the price justified the flavor. I did enjoy the flavor of the BBQ sauce. The twice-baked potato was tasty too. I really do enjoy the atmosphere of Larrupin. The location and this place on a rainy evening made it awesome too. I still recommend Larrupin.

One of the best meals we have ever enjoyed in California. The food was manna from heaven, every bite delicious, every dish perfectly prepared and the libations tasted as of the nectar of the gods! The service was impeccable, prompt and attentive. And eating in the beautiful garden became almost a religious experience. And all for a relatively reasonable price. Definitely, Ten Stars!!!

Overall it was a nice experience. Service was excellent, although I'd say upscale bar and grill feel, not really fine dining. Only a few vegetarian options. The food was good, but a bit all over the place. The portobello mushroom dish came with cold salad on the same plate overloaded with hot veggies. It was a bit of a soggy mess. The cheese board was ok but not amazing. Dessert was good. Not really a fan of the decor and carpet on the tables. Would be good if there was a consistent theme all round.

Larrupin is where you go when you really want a good quality meal with a great atmosphere and quality service. If you want to spoil a loved one or have a small celebration gathering this is one of the best spots in Humboldt county. It is located just outside of the lovely seaside village of Trinidad and close to patricks point state park (which has a amazing sunset view over the pacific ocean). Enjoy the oysters, the wines the local organic cuisine and the rustic ambiance and leave thinking....wow that would have cost way more in the city. 😊 Thanks to the ownership, the cooks and waitstaff for keeping it classy all these years.❤ Update 1/11/24 Still one of the best places to eat in Humboldt Larrupin never disappoints. From beginning to end, everything was delicious and top quality. My date had the lamb chops while I enjoyed a prime rib steak with braised mushrooms and gorgonzola cream sauce cooked to perfection. Creme Brulee and German chocolate cake for desert and a pinot from Sonoma made this meal utterly satisfying. They have a room for birthday partys and private functions too now, which is a good idea so that quieter dinners can have a more subdued experience. In the summer when the outside patio is open, there is live jazz music 🎷 🎺 🎶 Top shelf service here worth every cent!

The decor was elegant and worldly. Our waitress Tamera was exceptional and knew the menu inside out. I would suggest turning up the lights a notch. Our dinners were prepared by an experienced chef. A nice presentation and an array of flavors to seduce the pallette. A great date atmosphere or a gem location to treat your significant other.
